The Suede finish is a highly advanced matte texture exclusive to Silestone. Unlike standard gloss worktops, the Suede surface is uniquely soft to the touch and provides exceptional colour consistency. It is incredibly popular in contemporary and industrial kitchen designs as it diffuses light rather than reflecting it.
While Silestone is highly durable and can withstand moderate temperatures, sudden or extreme heat can cause thermal shock to the resins within the stone. We always strongly advise using a trivet or a heat pad before placing boiling pans or roasting tins directly onto the surface.
No, Silestone is completely maintenance-free. Because the advanced mineral surface is entirely non-porous, it never needs to be sealed, polished or waxed. A simple daily wipe with a microfibre cloth and warm soapy water is all that is required to maintain its factory finish.
