Two complementary surfaces

Silestone for the widest choice of quartz colours and marble looks, Dekton for the toughest, most heat-resistant sintered stone.

Quality and warranties

Cosentino backs its surfaces with strong manufacturer warranties and a reputation built over decades.

Low-silica innovation

Silestone’s HybriQ technology significantly reduces crystalline silica content compared with traditional quartz.

Sustainability

Cosentino has invested heavily in recycled materials, water and renewable energy across its manufacturing.

Silestone and Dekton, side by side

Silestone is engineered quartz: crushed natural quartz bound with resin, non-porous and available in a huge palette including realistic marble looks. Like all quartz it is heat-resistant but not heatproof, so use a trivet. Dekton is sintered stone, made by compacting natural minerals under extreme heat and pressure with no resin, which makes it exceptionally heat, scratch and UV resistant and suitable for outdoor kitchens. Both are non-porous and never need sealing.

Silestone is engineered quartz with a wide colour range, ideal for most indoor kitchens. Dekton is sintered stone, far more heat and UV resistant, which makes it the better choice for serious cooks and outdoor kitchens.

Silestone’s HybriQ technology significantly lowers the crystalline silica content compared with traditional quartz. See our low-silica worktops guide for more on why this matters.

Yes. Dekton is UV-stable and weatherproof, so it will not fade in sunlight, which makes it one of the best surfaces for an outdoor kitchen.

For most indoor kitchens and the widest colour choice, Silestone. For maximum durability, heat resistance or an outdoor kitchen, Dekton. We are happy to advise based on your kitchen.
