Because Ascale slabs contain absolutely no polymer resins, they are entirely impervious to thermal shock. You can safely place boiling saucepans, hot baking trays and slow cookers directly onto the surface without causing scorch marks or structural damage.
Ascale is renowned for manufacturing slabs in various thicknesses. While we use their robust 12mm and 20mm slabs for high-traffic worktops, they also produce ultra-thin slabs perfectly suited for seamless, matching splashbacks and even kitchen cabinet door cladding.
The pure mineral composition ensures Ascale is completely UV stable. The rich colours and intricate veining will never fade or yellow in direct sunlight, making it the premier choice for luxury outdoor barbecue areas and alfresco dining spaces.
The immense pressure used during the Ascale sintering process ensures the final slab has absolute zero porosity. Liquids, oils and bacteria simply cannot penetrate the surface. It is exceptionally forgiving in a high-traffic kitchen, naturally repelling stubborn stains from red wine, cooking oils and concentrated lemon juice. Furthermore, Ascale requires absolutely zero chemical sealing or specialist waxing to maintain its beautiful factory finish. A simple wipe with standard household cleaners is all that is required.

Yes, Ascale is exceptionally hard and highly resistant to deep scratching from everyday kitchen use. It easily handles the demands of a busy family home. However, to protect the lifespan of your kitchen knives, we always recommend using a standard chopping board for food preparation.
